Caring For Fantail Goldfish.

When selecting a Goldfish from a store their are some key things to look for when selecting your future gill friend.  Here are some things you need to consider and look at.  Now you won't need a magnify glass, just the naked eye and a little insight as well.

  • Fins- Look to make sure the fins are fully intact and not shredded or missing sections of it.  Also make sure to look and see if their is any cottony growth.
  • Swimming Habits- If they are swimming or gasping at the top of tank, or clamped up and sitting on the bottom then do not buy.  The fantail goldfish should be swimming around the tank or pond no problem.
  • Are your Goldfish Eating?  You can ask the pet store to feed the fish infront of you.
  • Goldfish Body- Check for deformities, missing eyes, missing scales, or fins.
These are some key things to look for when caring for your fantail goldfish.  Basically when it comes down to buying a fish or goldfish, just go by your gut.  If you don't think you should buy it then don't.
